This tiny beautiful Poppy flower inserted itself into our culture following World War ll memorialized with the poem "In Flanders Field" written by and unknown author. The flower pervades modern times daily in the destructive serge of heroin addiction in our cities. Yet to an artist this little flower still holds an intoxicating beauty that calls out, not to be abused, but to be painted as something beautiful.
